On Monday, the Taliban has confessed admitting that they have covered up the news of Mullah Omar’s death for over two years as they did not want to reveal anything about his death. He has died in 2013 which was first announced by the Afghan intelligence. The group has kept it as a secret till July to release the official statements in the name of Omar who was seen missing from the public since the Taliban has fallen from their reigning power in Kabul in 2001. A Taliban statement on Monday admitted for the first time that he died on April 23, 2013. The detail was buried in a biography of new leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour, Omar’s longtime deputy.
