It’s official. Tollywood actor Tamannaah Bhatia has signed her next big project opposite Tamil star Chiyaan Vikram. The film is being directed by Vijay Chander.
But Tamannaah was not the initial choice for the role. Premam fame Sai Pallavi was supposed to act in the film but she opted out of it citing date issues. Reports suggest that Pallavi had to quit the project as the film did not go on floors as planned. Earlier, it was expected that it will start rolling from January and will be completed in a single stretch of 45-50 days of shooting.
Speculations were rife that Tamannaah was being considered as the heroine.
Putting an end to the speculation, the Devi(L) actress confirmed that she is indeed a part of the movie, she says, “I am excited to start this project and at this point of time, I won’t be able to reveal anything about my characterisation. When I met Vijay to listen to the story, I was blown away! It was so liberating to see a strong storyline in a commercial pot-boiler. I will start shooting for the project from March.”
This is the first time that Tamannaah will be sharing screen space with Vikram. “Of course, it will be a fresh-pairing on screen and I am so kicked to see his performance up close. I have met him a couple of times at functions but I haven’t met him after signing for the film,” she said.
Buzz has it that Tamannaah is one of the frontrunners to replace Sai Pallavi as the lead in this film. Vikram is currently shooting for Gautham Menon’s Dhruva Natchathiram, while Sai Pallavi has been roped in as the lead in the Tamil remake of Charlie, opposite Madhavan.
