The entire world is raving about ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’s’ success. The magnum opus has gone on to become the first Indian film to cross the mark of whopping Rs 1000 crore.
Tamannaah was appreciated by most people for playing the rebellious warrior Avantika in Baahubali: The Beginning. However, it’s an open secret that Tamannaah had less screen-time than the brand partners in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
Recently, reports said that SS Rajamouli chopped off most of the scenes featuring Tamannaah as they were low on CGI. Reports also suggested that the the actor was miffed with Rajamouli for mercilessly removing her scenes. Now, Tamannaah has quashed the rumours and called them “baseless”.
Speaking about her role in Baahubali 2, Tamannaah was quoted by Misskyra as saying, “I always knew what my role was. I have great respect for Rajamouli Sir and I am proud to be part of such a cult film. This film has changed my life as an actor and has absolutely raised the bar for everyone in the film industry.”
Baahubali 2 became the first Indian film to get a worldwide gross of more than ₹500 crore (₹5 billion) in all languages in just three days. Baahubali 2 became the highest grossing Indian film ever with worldwide gross of approx ₹900 crore (₹9 billion) in all languages in just seven days, surpassing PK worldwide gross of ₹792 crore. On the 9th day, Baahubali 2 became the first Indian film ever to collect ₹1000 crore.
The film collected Rs 40.75 crore on its release day, followed with a Rs 40.25 crore on Saturday (day two), Rs 46.50 crore on Sunday (day 3) and Rs 39 crore on Monday (day four). The S.S.Rajamouli’s magnum opus minted Rs 245 crore in its first week. The film collected Rs 20 crore and Rs 26.50 on its second Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan star in pivotal roles in this instalment of Baahubali.
