Director Teja of ‘Chitram’, ‘Nuvvu Nenu’ and ‘Jayam’ fame has recently completed his upcoming film, ‘Hora Hori’ with new comers as the lead actors in the film has made some contentious statements about the new trend of adopting villages by movie stars in the film industry. There has been news about big stars like Mahesh Babu, Shruthi Haasan and Prakash Raj on a motto of adopting villages in order to develop them well. However Teja stated something that is dubious about Mahesh Babu adopting a village.
When Teja was asked about the current go of actors adopting villages, he said that people who contribute to the society in the form of social service will get tax reduction which is why stars began adopting villages and not because they want to give back to the country. He als questioned asking why Mahesh Babu did not start this service from the time of ‘Okkadu’ movie and why now after ‘Srimanthudu’ ? He added on to say that he really appreciates them if they are really doing it for genuine reasons and social cause.
