Kajal Aggarwal has seen back to back hits in 2015. She was juggling between Telugu and Tamil but had recent receptions for her films and some are blockbusters. She started 2016 with an announcement of herself replacing another girl in Pawan kalyan’s ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ and bagging Mahesh Babu’s ‘Brahmotsavam’. Just in a while she was roped in for a love story in Bollywood to get paired with the new trending actor Randeep Hooda. Everyone thought it is going to be much better year for kajal and adds points in her film graph.
But Sardar Gabbar Singh..
Released with so much hype and Pawan’s fan base made us expect so much from the film. More over. The power star himself penned down the film so we though he is going to write it the way fans would love it. But everything is backfired. Kajal’s role in the film became a mannequin to carry expensive cloths, unfortunately.
Coming to Brahmotsavam..
After the disastrous critical comments on Sardar, Brahmotsavam was trending before release. As it is coming from the director and actor combo that worked amazingly well earlier, audience were more than eager to watch the family entertainer. But this ended up being another disappointment. Kajal’s character was less than a heroine and more than a cameo. So we don’t know what to comment on it.
Finally, Do Lafzon ki kahani..
Though Kajal debuted with a Bollywood film, she has done only two films after that (Singham and Special 26). So when she got a call from B-town again, she is obviously excited. It is a Blind girl’s role who falls in love with a guy and he struggles to take care of her. ‘Sarabjit’ actor Randeep Hooda played her love interest. Though the actors’ manager to get some compliments from critics for their acting skills, the film hasn’t gone far for Box Office.
Kajal have two more films in making. Kavalai Vendam and Garuda in Tamil and an untitled film she has recently signed for Teja. Is it going to affect her upcoming sign ups? We’ll have to wait and see.
