The notorious gangster, Chhota Rajan was arrested in Bali on 25 October. According to reports from a leading news channel, he will most likely arrive in India on Tuesday. The deportation process has already begun and the 55-year-old gangster will be taken to Delhi first. A team of officers from CBI, Delhi police and Mumbai police arrived in Bali on Monday to meet Rajan and continue the deportation process.Rajan is expected to be taken to Delhi directly. Therefore, prison officials at Arthur Road jail are increasing security measures.
They expect that he will be lodged there soon as most of the cases against him are filed in Mumbai. They are taking the precautionary measure in order to prevent any attacks on Rajan by the members of the Dawood Ibrahim gang who are inmates of the same prison. Chhota Rajan, born Rajendra Sadashiv Nikhalje was arrested in Bali, Indonesia, while he was travelling on a fake passport under the name Mohan Kumar. “It (the arrest) is very, very important because after Dawood’s gang, his was the second most notorious and cruel gang,” former Mumbai police chief PS Pasricha told an Indian TV station.
