Mumbai is witnessing Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavam’s darshan, Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavam is also known as Tirupati Balaji. It is for the first time that this programme of divine darshan is being held in Mumbai. This event is being held at Somaiya ground, Chunabhatti. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis will be inaugurating the event.
It is first week long programme of puja and seva of Lord Sri Venkateswara, after a replica of Lord Venkateshwara of Tirupati was brought down to Somaiya Grounds in Sion.
MP Rahul Shewale said, “There was a waiting list of 14 states who had requested the TTD for the idol. We are glad, that we received it before them else there would have been a wait of 14 years.” He told Mirror that the idea had occurred to him when he visited Tirupati a month ago. “In Mumbai, there are so many devotees who can not afford the expenditure to visit Tirupati. This programme is mainly to fulfill their desires,” he added.
The Muslim devotees of Sri Venkateswara said they came not for ibadat (worship) but ziyarat (visit) of the deity and prayed for peace and harmony in the country . We have kept the divine darshan absolutely free.” MUMBAI: Among the thousands who reached Somaiya Ground at Chunabhatti on Monday to attend the opening ceremony of Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavam, a divine darshan festival of the famous deity from Tirupati , included some Muslims too.
All the daily seva rituals like Suprabhatam Seva, Thomala, Archana and special sevas like the Asthadala Pada Padmaradhana, Sahasra Kalasabhishekam, Tiruppavada etc will be carried out during the festival.
