A 2004 batch woman IAS officer from Himachal Pradesh cadre was allegedly harassed by a 59-year-old train ticket examiner in AC-II tier of Kalka Express on Saturday.
Identified as Rajpal Singh, the TTE of Tundla junction, was booked under IPC’s section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) by GRP, as Railways suspended him. In her early 40s, the officer was travelling back to her home in Kolkata from New Delhi when the incident occurred. In her FIR, the officer stated, “I had asked the TTE to reduce the cooling of the AC coach and also requested him to allot a lower berth to me. But in response, Rajpal Singh misbehaved with me and touched my cheek. He also used inappropriate language.”
The IAS officer continued her journey, but she disembarked at Hathras station and came back to Aligarh to give a written complaint.”
