As a part of the road repair works, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has put up speed breakers to prevent rash driving by motorists. However, GVMC did not followed the guidelines issued by Indian Road Congress, which make painting speed breakers mandatory.
Commuters, unable to identify the humps due to non-painting on them, have been losing control over the vehicles at the humps and fall down from the bikes. Due to the absence of mandatory white painting (zebra marking) on the speed breakers and also missing of warning boards before the height speed breakers at Tenneti Park down, Zoo Park, Sagarnagar and few other areas in the city, the motorists has been receiving injuries after their bikes skidded on those speed breakers.
