Ranbir Kapoor is a big star in India and is immensely popular even abroad owing to their sizeable Indian population. But turns out not many Hollywood stars know him.
In an interview, Ranbir shared a few of his hilariously embarrassing interactions with Hollywood A-listers.
On being asked how was it when he met Quentin Tarantino in London, the Tamasha actor recounted, “So with Quentin Tarantino recently, he was promoting The Hateful Eight and we were shooting Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in London. I was shooting in a basement and he was in the building. I heard that he was doing an interview so I went running up. I told Karan, “Listen, I have to meet him.” Not that I’m going to say that I’m an actor from India. I just wanted to meet him, take a picture, an autograph.”
It so happened that Ranbir Kapoor spotted Natalie Portman in New York and went up to her to tell her that he loved her work. But Natalie was in no mood to talk to Ranbir, whom she may have simply thought of as a fan. And fan he is! The Bollywood star revealed that he is star struck as far as Hollywood is concerned. He said in the interview, “I am star struck. I have run behind Natalie Portman in Tribeca in New York, where she was on the phone and I didn’t realize if she was crying, I quickly went behind and said ‘I love your…’ and before I could say work, she turned to me and said ‘Get lost’ and walked away! So I have my heart broken also, but I would still chase them.”
During a recent interview with Rajeev Masand, the 33-year-old actor revealed that he is as “star struck” as we are.
