A 26-year-old Delhi woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three persons in a moving car on Sunday. The woman, was abducted from near the upscale Beverly Park on MG Road as she waited for a ride back home.
The trio raped her in the moving car before dumping her on a deserted and forested section of Faridabad road. In her police complaint, the survivor alleged a woman she knew was also present in the car.
The survivor had first lodged a zero FIR with Vasant Kunj police station in Delhi on Monday morning. This was transferred to Gurgaon Sector 29 police station on Monday night, who lodged an FIR of gang-rape against three unknown persons.
At around 12.30 am, I emerged from a bar in a mall and walked down to Beverly Park on MG Road to look for a cab to return home in Delhi. A white car, with three men and a woman sitting inside, stopped next to me. The men pulled me inside the car and rolled up the window panes and drove towards Faridabad road,” she alleged in her complaint.
She further alleged she tried to raise the alarm, but that this was of no avail as all three men took turns to rape her, while the woman in the navigator’s seat looked on. “As they dumped me in a forest area, the accompanying woman turned towards me and I recognised her as Sheeba, someone I know. The three attackers were unknown,” the complaint read.
The survivor claimed after she was thrown out of the car, she somehow managed to gather her senses to reach home in the wee hours. On Monday morning, she approached Vasant Kunj police station, who registered a zero FIR. “An FIR has been registered under Section 376-D (gang rape) of IPC. The survivor’s medical examination has been done and a report is awaited. We’re looking for CCTV footage for visuals of the car,” said inspector Ashok Kumar, SHO, Sector 29 PS. The woman also recorded her statement under Section 164 in a city court on Tuesday.
